Setting up a till

Install it
Open the file you downloaded and follow the steps on screen. General POS then appears in the Start menu.

Register or sign in
New to General POS? Choose "Register a new business", pick a plan and approve the M-Pesa prompt on your phone. Already registered? Sign in with your business address.

Name this till
Give the computer a name such as "Till 1", choose its branch, open a shift and start selling.

Allow it to run
Right-click the file you downloaded, open Properties and tick "Allow executing file as program", then double-click it. Or, in a terminal:
chmod +x General\ POS-*.AppImage -

Updates from inside the app
When a new version is out, the till shows a message and updates itself when you tap Download. You only need to download from this page once.
Only real updates
Before installing, the till checks that the update really came from us and was not changed on the way.

We run the system your tills connect to and back up your records every day, so there is nothing for you to look after.
